I hate Halloween. I hate everything about it. But what I hate the most is how parents (including people who call themselves Christian) willingly, even happily involve their precious children in this festival of Satan. From the time of infancy on up, people cannot wait to indoctrinate their children in the ways to pay homage to the devil during the month of October.

Of course, most parents would say, "What are you talking about? It's just dress-up and candy. As a matter of fact, I don't even let my kids wear scary costumes." And then there is this parent: "Well, I know that God protects my child. So what is the harm in letting them do this?" And if those two responses don't cover it, there's always this classic parental reply: "Well, it's not evil to me. And, hey, my mom and dad let me celebrate Halloween, and I turned out okay."

People are so blinded by their desire to join in on all of the traditions and holidays (or rather unholy days) that the heathens have imagined that they do not even care to count the cost of what such involvement entails. Friend, do you even know or care where Halloween came from or why people say "trick or treat?" Here is a little background on just that aspect of the Halloween tradition:

The trick-or-treat ritual was practiced by the Druids and their followers in medieval times. The Druids went from castle to castle demanding a treat, however, this demand was for a young woman who could be offered as a human sacrifice in a Satanic ritual. The Druids were known as men of Oak and they demanded blood sacrifices. These men were so controlled by Satanic forces that they had strange and frightening powers.

If the "treat" (the young woman) pleased the Druids, they would light a candle made of human fat and insert it in a Jack-O-Lantern to protect those inside the castle from being killed by demons.

When some of the families could not meet the demands of the Druids, then it was time for a "trick." A hexagram was drawn on the front door of the dwelling, and it was said that Satan or his demons would kill someone in the household through fear that night.

The spellbinding beat of the druid music would fill the night as the ceremony began. The men would assault their victim and then brutally sacrifice her to their gods.

Friend, as you stand at your pumpkin-adorned front porch dressed in your costume passing out candy to the neighborhood kids, you are paying homage to Satan. As you take your costumed little girl up and down the dark streets chanting, "trick-or-treat," you are channeling the evil Druids and fellowshipping with the unfruitful works of darkness. When you or your children take part in ANY aspect of Halloween, you are giving Satan PERMISSION to come into your life!

And calling sinfulness by another name does not make it any better. Whether you label it Trunk-or-Treat or Harvest Day or Fall Festival, whether you dress up in "nice" costumes or hold your event on October 24th, you are still having intercourse with the devil. All aspects of Halloween stem from the occult and are in opposition to how the Lord wants His followers to live. You cannot change evil by dressing it up and calling it fun. Taken from the libertytothecaptives.net website: "The trick-or-treat ritual is Satan's invention and is carried out on Satan's night. Any person, Christian or not, who participates in this ritual is giving evil spirits an invitation to come into his life and have fellowship with him. Demonic affliction is a heavy price to pay for engaging in what false Christian ministers call harmless fun." I could not have said it better myself.

And if you do not believe me, just look it up for yourself. Google "The origins of Halloween" or "Where Halloween came from." The truth is out there if you have eyes to see it, ears to hear it, and a heart to change your ways.

So, you see, it is not just dress-up and candy. There is great harm involved in participating in Halloween and its festivities. And, no, the Lord will not necessarily protect your home or your child if you are WILLINGLY standing in agreement with Satan (by your actions) and giving place to the devil, thereby removing God's hedge of protection. And, sure, maybe your parents were ignorant of the truth when they allowed you to learn to love Halloween. But now that you know better, will you do better by your own children? Will you see this evil for what it is and repent of it and stop trying to make something that is and has always been inherently evil into something innocuous and good? Perhaps these verses will convict your heart and help you to see how the Lord feels regarding these things:

1 Corinthians 10:21, "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."

Isaiah 5:20, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Ephesians 5:11-12, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret."

Ephesians 4:27, "Neither give place to the devil."

1 Thessalonians 5:22, "Abstain from all appearance of evil."

2 Corinthians 6:17-18, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

Deuteronomy 18:9, "When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations."

Deuteronomy 7:26, "Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing."

Romans 13:12, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light."

Ephesians 5:8, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light."

1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

So in closing, let me leave you with this: October 31 is an unholy Sabbath observed by Satanists, witches, and occultists worldwide. The entire month of October leading up to October 31 is a time of ritual killing of pets, casting of spells and curses, kidnappings, and many other vile and heinous activities culminating in planned world-wide human sacrifice. Why would anyone who claims to be a Christian want to stand in agreement with Satan by participating in rituals and traditions that have their roots in this unholy, abominable, satanic highday? All aspects of Halloween stem from the occult and are in opposition to how the Lord wants His followers to live. You cannot change evil by dressing it up and calling it fun. Halloween is an abomination in the sight of God and should be an abomination to you as well. If you truly love the Lord, you should hate Halloween. Psalm 97:10, "Ye that love the Lord hate evil."
